Words cannot express how much fun I had photographing this beautiful baby girl with her AMAZING rosy lips and chubby cheeks. She simply is a gorgeous newborn. Reagan is the third baby I have photographed from this awesome family, and the very first GIRL! Her oldest brother was one of my very first newborn sessions! We made sure to capture this pose, as we have similar shots of both of her big brothers.
I could just tell Reagan wanted to give me a little smile for her newborn session, and she did give me a little grin when she was all cozied up for this swaddled picture. Her mommy suggested a bluish teal / pink combination when we discussed her session, and I have to give her mommy credit – these colors are adorable on her! I just love working with parents to bring their ideas and creative vision to life. This isn’t a color combination I would have thought of for this newborn session, but I am so thankful mommy did!
I couldn’t wait to see what Reagan looked like in the newborn romper I knitted just for her. I am so lucky to have found an amazing shop that sells newborn and sitter romper patterns (https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/GingernPicklesKnits) and they are always a perfect fit! I couldn’t believe how perfect Reagan’s complexion was in this image. The colors really brought her little features to life.
Even though I absolutely love newborn babies in color portraits, I have to say that this black and white image of Reagan stole my heart. She is beautiful, and the timeless feel of this black and white image show that beyond her amazing coloring, she is simply a stunning baby girl!
Before her session, her mommy let me know she wanted to see PURPLE, and a deep, rich purple at that. I created this newborn romper with lace accents just for Reagan’s session. I will be blogging later this week how much I love sewing and knitting for my newborn sessions. I can’t express what an incredible difference it has made in bringing the ideas and style requests parents give me to LIFE! Of course I am also so lucky to work with talented prop shops, but oftentimes I am seeking that perfect color or style, and being able to create it from scratch is so fulfilling.
Have I mentioned I love my job!?!?
